Description:
Long before their famous adventures with the Rebel Alliance, R2-D2 and C-3PO were assigned to many different masters by the Intergalactic Droid Agency. In this animated series, the droids encounter many unforgettable people: greedy villains set on conquering planets, terrible space pirates, and brave heroes. Left on the mining planet of Tyne's Horky, R2-D2 and C-3PO have been sent to their new assignments as waiters at the Doodnik Cafe. It is owned by a greedy tyrant by the name of Kleb Zellock, who is approached in the cafe by a hooded stranger, wanting Kleb to find someone before a bounty hunter does. He offers Kleb a substantial amount of money. When the droids lose their jobs, they decide to put themselves up for sale in a droid auction. Standing next to them is a weary looking android that they take pity on. A young man named Jann Tosh buys all three droids, and they return to Jann's home on a digging site owned by his Uncle Gundy. When they discover that the android is really a half-dead alien, they nurse him back to health and name him Kez-Iban. He saves Uncle Gundy from a cave-in at the mines, and then is kidnapped when Jann and the droids take Gundy to the hospital. With the help of a cargo pilot named Jessica Meade, Jann and the droids manage to rescue Kez-Iban at the Doodnik Cafe, only to then be captured by a slave miner who has heard of the bounty on Kez-Iban's head. In the slave mines, Jann and the droids learn the true identity of Kez-Iban: he is Mon Julpa, prince of the planet Tammuz-an, who was kidnapped and left to die with his memory blanked out. When the miner brings Kleb Zellock to the mines, Jann and the droids are caught in a wild chase to escape captivity. They eventually succeed, and rescue Mon Julpa before he is turned over to the assassins. Zolag, the hooded stranger who was looking for Julpa, thanks Jann, R2-D2, and C-3PO, and asks them to take him and the prince back to their homeworld. To get there, they hire Jessica Mead to take them in her old, clunky cargo ship. Their mission is to return Mon Julpa quickly, and overthrow a dictator who has decided to name himself ruler of Tammuz-an. When the heroes arrive, IG-88, a bounty hunter droid, captures Julpa and his Royal Scepter. Zaltek-Cha, the evil Visier of Tammuz-An, has discovered that he cannot be crowned King unless he is holding the scepter when the sun's rays hit it on top of the tower. While Zaltec-Cha is waiting for the sun to hit the tower, the droids, Jann, and Jessica rush to recover the Royal Scepter and get it to the prince in time. At the last minute, Artoo and Threepio, disguised as one of Zatek-Cha's guards, catch the scepter and throw it into Mon Julpa's hands just as the rays of the sun hit the glowing globe. He is now Mon Julpa, King of Tammuz-an! As a token of appreciation, Jann, Jessica, and the two droids are honored in a ceremony, and are appointed advisor's to the king's court. On a new mission for King Julpa, the heroes fly through space in a ship that carries fuel for Julpa's defense fighters. The fuel is very important to the defense of Tammuz-an, and there is always the danger of it being stolen by pirates in space. Just as anticipated, the fuel ship is attacked by Captain Kybo Ren and his Corsair pirate ship. Jan, flying in an Alliance A-Wing Fighter, goes after Kybo and his TIE Fighters. They all are taken captive by the Corsairs and are taken to a secret cave hideout on the water planet of Tarnoonga. There, Captain Kybo Ren and his first mate Jen-Oba plan an attack against Julpa and Tammuz-an: they plot to steal the fuel from the ship and leave the planet defenseless, using a spaceship stolen from the Empire called The Demolisher, a Star Destroyer that has powerful capabilities. Determined to get rid of the pesky heroes, Kybo takes Jess and holds her prisoner in a locked room, and throws Jann overboard a boat into the deep oceans of Tarnoonga. R2 and 3PO jump in to save Jann, and then have to fend off a scary sea monster. They escape with R2's built-in propeller, which helps them to swim faster and outrun the monster. Jessica escapes Jen-Oba and Kybo by distracting them with a seeker. When Jann and the droids get caught on their way back to save Jess, it is she who has to rescue them. Together, they all flee Tarnoonga in a ship. The Corsairs decide to go for the attack on Tammuz-an, and they catch up to Jess and the droids and catch them in the Demolisher's tractor beam. Jann, flying in his A-Wing, warns Julpa of the impending attack, and the droids and Jess manage to escape the ship and watch Kybo destroy it with the Demolisher. To Kybo's disappointment, it turns out that the ship Jann and Jess were guarding was a decoy, and Mon Julpa thanks the heroes for defeating the Destroyer. They capture Kybo and put him in prison on Tammuz-an. Back on the planet of Tammuz-an, King Julpa hosts a meeting to sign a peace treaty with Tammuz-an's warrior chief Lord Toda. He has brought his daughter Gerin and his son Koby along with him. Princess Gerin, who likes King Julpa, calms her father and reasons with him to be fair. In the meantime, Jen-Oba sneaks into the prison at Tammuz-an and frees Kybo. They zap Julpa with a lasergun and take Gerin hostage. C-3PO and R2-D2 trick Jen-Oba into revealing the location of the prisoners: Gerin and Julpa have been taken to a swamp moon known as Bogden. Lord Toda is angry that his daughter has been captured by the Corsicans, and blames Julpa for the whole act. The tension mounts-it's up to Jess and Jann, Artoo and Threepio to rescue the Princess before her short-tempered father plunges all of Tammuz-an into a war! On Bogden, Gerin escapes her cell, only to be chased by vicious attack wolves. She fends them off, and then gets rescued by Jann, while Jess and R2-D2 get caught by Kybo Ren. R2 frees them in time to warn Julpa, Jann and Threepio of Kybo's evil plan. To fight back, Lord Toda and his warriors concoct an ingenious plan to hide in a hidden compartment on Kybo Ren's ship. The surprise works, because Kybo and his pirates are caught off-guard by the attack. They try to fight back, but are defeated. In the end, Lord Toda is happy to have his daughter safe, and thanks Mon Julpa and the others for helping in her rescue. Jessica decides to go back to her freighter business, and Jann Tosh and the droids say good-bye to their loyal friend.
