Description: Dark Horse Comics and Bowen Designs is pleased to announce the release of the second in the very well-received series of bronze sculptures based upon characters from Star Wars. The Rancor monster, sculpted by master creator Randy Bowen, measures a full 15" tall and weighs 25 pounds on its rich base of black Spanish marble. This ultra-limited edition consists of only fifty numbered copies, each with a certificate of authenticity signed by Randy Bowen. The terrible beast called the Rancor is a five-meter-tall carnivore that walks on two legs and is reptilian in appearance. With long, out-of-proportion arms, huge fangs and long, sharp claws, the Rancor is a fearsome sight. Bowen has given the creature scale by placing one of the piglike Gamorrean guards in the Rancor's mighty grip. The artist has chosen to coat the guard with a greenish patina, providing a subtle contrast with the intricate sculptural detailing of the heavy bronze Rancor.
