Though this scene spans several seconds in the actual film, Alvin has masterfully compressed it all into a single image that captures the spirit of one of the saga's most thrilling moments. In addition, the viewer becomes part of the action with a point of view just forward of the racing ships -- the horizon careens hard to the right causing a dizzying sense of speed and motion.
