Description:
The Star Wars Style "D", considered by many to be one of the most inspired movie posters ever produced, was painted by Charles White III and Drew Struzan for the 1978 summer re-release of A New Hope. The signature "wild-post" look of this poster, which makes the artwork appear to be peeling away from a wooden fence, was added after it was found that not enough space had been reserved for the credit block on the original. As a result, this artwork is often referred to as the Star Wars "Circus Poster", rendered in the spirit of 1930's period illustration. It is rumored to be one of George Lucas' favorites. Code 3 has successfully reproduced this famous poster three-dimensionally for the first time, capturing the artists' original composition in exquisite detail. Each element has been replicated in cold cast resin, masterfully sculpted and hand painted. Luke and Leia appear to be blasting themselves right out of the image, while the landspeeder dramatically rockets toward the viewer below. Even the wood grain which flanks the artwork looks, and feels, like the real thing. Debuting exclusively at StarWarsShop.com, fans can now order this fantastic dimensional homage to one of the best movie posters of all time. Overall dimensions are 8.5"Wx10.5"Hx4.125"D.
